In the fast-paced world of healthcare, where compassion and dedication are the driving forces behind every successful caregiver, there shines a beacon of light in the form of Lorina Studer, affectionately known as Lori. Having embarked on an unexpected journey into the healthcare field, Lori's unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others has earned her the title of Employee of the Month at Care Indeed. In an exclusive interview, we delve into her heartwarming story and discover the passion that fuels her dedication.

1. Tell us a little bit about your journey in the healthcare field?

My journey in the healthcare field began unexpectedly. I had been working at the San Jose Mercury News for 15 years as a mailer until our department closed in 2011. Losing my job was devastating, and finding a new job that offered the same pay proved to be quite challenging. It was then that some of my friends, who were already caregivers, encouraged me to consider a career in healthcare. I didn't know much about caregiving, but I took a 3-month class to become a Personal Care Assistant (PCA). The idea of working with elderly clients intrigued me, and that's how my journey into caregiving began.

2. What do you like most about your job?

What I love most about my job is witnessing the positive impact I can make on the lives of my clients. When I see improvements in their conditions and well-being, and they smile or give me compliments for the care I provide, it fills my heart with joy. The gratitude they show and the contentment they feel are truly rewarding, and it motivates me to do my best every day.

3. What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy going on vacation and exploring new places. I find it refreshing to travel and experience different cultures and landscapes. But my family is my priority, and I cherish spending quality time with them whenever I can.

4. How would you describe Care Indeed's culture?

Care Indeed has a culture that genuinely cares about its employees. I feel valued and appreciated here. It's a supportive environment where our voices are heard, and that makes a significant difference in how we provide care to our clients.

5. What do you think about being the Employee of the Month?

I am incredibly grateful to be recognized as the Employee of the Month. It's a heartwarming acknowledgment of my dedication and hard work. This recognition inspires me even more to provide the best possible care for seniors and make a positive impact on their lives.

6. Is there anything you want to share with your colleagues?

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my colleagues. We are a team, and together, we can overcome challenges and support each other. If any of my colleagues are going through rough times, don't hesitate to reach out for help. We are here for each other, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of our clients and in each other's lives.
