Taking care of your health is always seen as an individual’s responsibility to themselves--exercise regularly, eat healthily and do regular check-ups. While these activities may be the most obvious path to a healthy lifestyle, the environment plays a crucial role in motivating an individual to take charge of their health journey. The past Thanksgiving season reminded us that; we are who we are because of the community and the people who have ushered us to success. Social connection plays a huge role in motivating and empowering individuals to sustain these positive lifestyle changes.

People by nature are social creatures. Our relationships with our friends, family and community directly affect our individual health. People who have stable relationships and have a good support system are more likely to make healthy choices, leading to better physical and mental health outcomes.

More than impacting an individual’s health, social connectedness strengthens the community. An inclusive relationship and a sense of belonging in neighborhoods, schools and work are associated with safety and resilience of communities. At the same time, it encourages individuals to give back to their communities.

As part of a community that supported us and made us grow, we aim to act on our responsibility to provide resources and tools that would allow them to take charge of their well-being.On the other hand, we also want to foster a positive environment that would help individuals thrive and foster support for our own Care Indeed community.

Our efforts this month have allowed us to practice gratitude and give back to our community. Without the collaborative effort and contributions of each individual, we would not be able to provide quality care to our valuable community members.

As we end this month, we hope that the past Thanksgiving season has reminded us that we are all invaluable members of a supportive community. Our connection to one another is an essential part of being human–one that nurtures the soul and fuels our physical body.

Thank you for your continued support in our company. We look forward to becoming a pillar of support in your health journey.

With care always,

Vanessa Valerio
