When we think about making resolutions or goals, we imagine doing those things under the best circumstances possible. We imagine a perfect environment, a clear head, and energy that won't quit. But that’s not always the case. If the past two years have taught us anything, it’s that we can’t wait for the ideal moments. Life moves pretty fast – anything can change in the blink of an eye, and the only thing we can do is make the most of the time and resources we have now.
This is not to say that you shouldn’t be setting resolutions or goals, though. I think they’re great - big or small. After all, working on personal growth can be an effective way to boost our moods and circumstances.
The most important thing is to be kind to ourselves—in both setting goals and trying to do them. The vision, ambition, or inspiration you have for your life is a gift – a reminder that we can focus on what we want our life to look like, even and especially in trying times.
In the middle of trying to change your life for the better, I hope you are still able to find the strength to accept the circumstances you’re faced with and to be content with who you are.
We have no idea what this year will throw at us. But we can always take things one thing, one step, one day at a time.
With much love and care, Vee
