Every June, something shifts.
The days are a little longer, the evenings grow warmer, and there’s this almost unspoken invitation in the air—to slow down, to step outside, and to reconnect with what matters most. For many of us, it’s a time that whispers: breathe, reflect, come back to yourself.
At Care Indeed, June carries its own tradition—Family Fun Day. What started years ago as a simple gathering has grown into one of the most meaningful days of the year for us. We call it a “company event,” but in truth, it’s become so much more. It’s a reunion. A celebration. A space where caregivers, office team members, and families come together not in roles—but as people.
This year, we called it Carechella—a playful name that captured the energy, joy, and spirit of the day. Music, games, laughter, shared meals, kids running around, and hugs that lingered just a little longer. But beneath all the fun was something deeper—a collective exhale. A moment where we all remember why we do this work in the first place. Home care isn’t just about service. It’s about connection. And this day reminded us of that in the most human way.
For me personally, this June was different.
I made a conscious decision to step back—not just from operations or responsibilities—but from the constant need to keep moving. I took time for myself. I leaned into stillness. I spent more time in nature, in silence, and with the parts of me I often push aside in the name of “getting things done.”
And in that space, I heard something I needed to hear:
“Don’t forget yourself in the process of building your dreams.”
As COO, as a founder, as someone who has given so much to this vision—it’s easy to fall into the rhythm of doing. Of solving, supporting, and leading. But even leaders need care. Even caregivers need moments to receive.
This pause reminded me of how much there is to be grateful for—our people, our mission, our story. But more than anything, it reminded me that balance isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. The body, mind, and soul will always speak when something’s off. The question is—will we listen?
So this June, I did. I listened.
And I came back with a full heart and clearer eyes.
To our caregivers and their families, thank you. You are the reason Care Indeed has heart.
To our clients and their loved ones, we never take your trust for granted.
And to anyone reading this, I hope June gave you at least one quiet moment to remember who you are—outside of what you do.
Take the pause. Breathe. You’ll come back stronger, clearer, more you.
With heart, always,
Vanessa & The Care Indeed Team
