Reyna’s Heartfelt Journey in Providing Care

To others, the desire to help other people and choose the medical field may have been nurtured later in their life. For Reynageni Cornejo, this passion naturally blossomed from her environment at a young age. 

Reynageni, or Reyna for short, is a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) since 2022. Growing up, with her older sister being a nurse, Reynageni was naturally drawn to the field of healthcare. This environment nurtured her passion for caring for others, particularly the elderly, and has shaped her into the compassionate and hardworking professional she is today.

Reynageni’s commitment to her patients is evident in everything she does. As a mother of five, she balances her roles with incredible grace, often viewing her responsibilities at home and work as a welcome break from each other. She finds joy in the variety her job offers, from the different places she works to the unique situations and people she encounters daily. Each day brings new experiences and challenges that keep her engaged and passionate about her work. She reiterates, “Once I step in the facility, I enjoy everything that I do,” emphasizing her love for every aspect of her role.

One of the most challenging aspects of Reynageni’s work is witnessing her patients struggle due to their conditions. Despite these difficulties, her empathy and dedication never waver. She approaches each situation with a calm and caring demeanor, always striving to make her patients feel comfortable and supported. Her resilience and positive attitude in the face of such challenges highlight her exceptional character and commitment to her role.

When asked what inspires her to continue her hard work as a CNA, Reynageni’s response is simple yet profound: her family. She wants her children to grow up with the same sense of compassion and desire to help others that she embodies daily. Her message to aspiring CNAs is a testament to her philosophy: "To do it with love. Enjoy what you're doing and work as a team."
