About Dr. Bill Buchholz
Dr. Bill Buchholz is a medical oncologist and was educated at Harvard University and Stanford Medical School. He has been practicing in the Los Altos area from 1978 until 2014 when he retired. Since then he has continued to lecture to professional and lay groups about Advance Care Planning, the End of Life Options Act (physician aided dying) and conducted workshops to help people—before they become patients—have more control over the medical care they receive when they are facing potentially mortal illnesses.
He serves on the Senior Commission of Los Altos, the medical ethics committees of El Camino Hospital and Santa Clara County Medical Association. He was chosen as a Changemaker Fellow at Los Altos United Methodist Church; his project was Creative Aging.

Alicia has been a hospice nurse for the last 7 years of her career. She started as a case manager and moved into the management role in the past 3 years. She has helped open Solace hospice in their journey to get certified by CMS. Alicia earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Far Eastern University (FEU) in Manila, Philippines in 1993. She completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2012 while balancing her ongoing
